Mathieu Matégot, vers 1954 — lampe rare de la série « Java » en tôle ondulée finement soudée par points (spot-weld, technique très innovante pour l’époque) et ajourée sur une armature cylindrique ; intérieur peint en blanc, extérieur en jaune moutarde. Le chapeau ajouré aussi pivote sur son axe décalé et offre un jeu de lumière exceptionnel et envoûtant. Lampe vintage (modèle non réédité) dans ses couleurs d’origine (non repeinte) : quelques petites taches de rouille insignifiantes, témoins du temps passé ; belle patine qui lui confère du caractère. Mathieu Matégot, circa 1954 — rare lamp from the "Java" series, made of finely spot-welded corrugated sheet metal (spot-weld, a very innovative technique for its time) and perforated over a cylindrical metal frame; interior painted white, exterior in original mustard yellow. The perforated shade pivots on its axis and produces an exceptional and captivating light effect. Vintage lamp (model not reissued) in its original finish (not repainted): a few insignificant small rust spots, signs of age; a handsome patina that gives it character. Structurally very sound and aesthetically consistent with its period.
